meet suparna and kamini- the traditions beauty studio team

about suparna, makeup artist/hair artist

From an early age, Suparna has had a keen eye for the power makeup can hold in enhancing a woman's beauty.  Her observant nature and early exposure to the performing arts, especially classical Indian dance also contributed to her developing a love and fascination with the artistry and transformative techniques of makeup.  After finishing high school, Suparna went onto Rutgers University to earn a degree in Economics, and eventually started a full time career in finance. In her spare time, however she would study makeup looks that were showcased online, and made an effort to study and learn various makeup artistry techniques. Friends and family members began to take notice of her skills and often sought her help with makeup for special events such as parties, engagements and weddings, After working in the corporate world for thirteen years Suparna realized that her true passion was in doing makeup for others, especially for brides and classical Indian dancers, and she made the decision to pursue freelance makeup artistry as a career. Having been trained on the classical artistry techniques and industry standards practiced here in the United States, while also studying the traditional, exotic Indian bridal and dance makeup genres, Suparna has developed her own unique, well-rounded style.  She understands the importance of enhancing one’s intrinsic, natural beauty in a realistic yet impactful manner, irrespective of skin tone, age or bone structure. Suparna’s goal as an artist is to make her clients feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.   Whether working with a bride,  a teenager attending prom, or a grandmother wanting to look her best for a special event, she is able to cater to each client's preferences.   Suparna is currently finishing up the International Master Makeup Artistry certification program with QC Makeup Academy and is a current student of renowned makeup artist Tamanna Roashan's Dress Your Face Live online academy.  She also holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Rutgers University in New Jersey and currently resides in central New Jersey with her husband and two young children.
